About FHMA

Our Story

After years of affiliation with Orange Coast Musical Arts in Garden Grove, the popularity for homeschool music education in the LA county area began to grow. Families showed interest for sites closer to the Foothills. Orange Coast Musical Arts decided that it needed to expand it services to LA County and, in 2013, established a site in Walnut. A few years later, “Foothill Musical Arts”, under the direction of Naomi Peña, became the official name for the LA County sites. After much success in a growing homeschool community, Orange Coast Musical Arts gave its blessing to Foothill Musical Arts to become independent, with the desire to reach more homeschool families in the surrounding areas. Through her dedication and commitment to students and families, Naomi Peña’s vision for FHMA has come to fruition. On March 7th, 2025 Foothill Homeschool Musical Arts became an official entity.

Our Mission

To provide affordable, quality music education to homeschool students and other students that might not have access to similar music classes while encouraging them through the Christian faith.

Our Statement of Faith

We believe there is one and only one living and true God who exists in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God created humans, but they disobeyed God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, they need God’s saving grace. Consequently, God became a flesh-and-blood human to save us—Jesus Christ, the Son, who was conceived by God in a virgin woman, Mary. In His death, Jesus received the consequences for sin that we deserved. Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on Earth and voluntarily paid for humans’ sin by dying on the cross as their substitute. Jesus Christ was buried and rose from the dead of His own power and is the only mediator between humans and God. The salvation that Jesus Christ made possible for us is exclusively found by faith alone in Him and His shed blood. Those who have accepted the gift of salvation become children of God and receive everlasting life. The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ, equipping believers for personal growth and service to God. We find these truths in the Holy Bible (the inspired and infallible Word of God), our guide in all matters of faith and practice. (Rom. 10:9-13, I Cor. 15:1-4, Heb. 9:14, John 3:16)
